Any Tips on keeping rays

I will be using a small rock type substrate

He will be by himself for a while till i find some tank mates not to sure what i want

He will be feeding on hikari sinking carnivore pellets

I will be running a 4ft sump

And the tank is not cycled yet

before u get him buddy make sure ur tank is pefect buddy or ur in for a up hill fight to fix it or worst a dead ray

and if u got a heater make sure it is covered as i found out the hard way bout that

also been said alot here but do ur home work on tank mates and test before u leave them alone or u may find a tank full of death

Sand is better.

Cycle tank first and stress it with ammonia sources. This will ensure it can handle feeding and not spike.

even at 12cm you will be feeding high ammonia producing feed and if the filtration cannot handle it, it will likely lead to health problems later.

The person you are getting from, are they already feeding hikari?

if not you may need other options to initially get it eating.

Frozen krill/mussels/prawn are all good options for tempting it.

live can be even better

You have ammonia and nitrite test kits?
