Jameson
Hi all have finally got my tank up and running. I only have a kodak so pictures aren't that up to scratch. The rock i got from Age of Aquariums. Its caribsea reef rock 2 boxes. I also used sand stone pavers to lift it out of the sand a bit. To hold it in place i had a bright idea to drill and dowel rod it together. Some hours and hours later oh and a drill bit in the hand i came sort of close. Think i might add some carved lime stone to the back. The back i sprayed with White Knight Bermuda Blue. Stand and hood Australian cedar wood gel and one coat of Estapol gloss[clear varnish] this i was worried about as messed up my coffee table at school. Few years back. The tank it's self is 5x2x2. Filter is a aquaone 2400 i also have a power head 1200l/h which i might try and make in to a filter gives me excuse to buy more tools. My fish so far are Electric Yellows and Mainganos [which are doing very well thanks lads]. All in all i am quite happy with it few things want to do to maybe improve on the look. But that's one of the joys of this Hobby is creating a moving picture and maintaining it . Sorry for maybe rambling on. Thanks Jamie
DFishkeeper
Hi Jamie, Tank is looking good. Those poor little fish are lost in there by themselves in that big tank, you'll have to get them some company soon Cheers, Doug

Jameson
Thanks for the posts Every one. Hope to maybe get few more maybe the weekend. I have my eyes on some and i know they are not all from the same lake and may give aggro once they little older. Plus turning my misses in to a fish lover and when i maybe get some babes happening. She will maybe give the go ahead for a small tier and a bigger tank for maybe Tanganyikans . The fish i like for colour and difference are Crimson Tides, Blue Dolphins, Rusty's, Tangerine Peacocks [seen them on live fish been looking them up but getting a lot of mixed reports are they hybrids? If so wont get as I don't want to support Fish mutation. plus there a lot of other beautiful peacocks out there]. O.b's of one kind or another, Venustus maybe once the others get bigger and Bn's keep my rocks clean. Does any one have any opinions on keeping Synodontis Multipunctatus in a tank like this would love to here. So many fish and only one tank. All Comments would be good to here good or bad. rival81
Looks similar to my tank... i like it! What kind of substrate is that? I went for 20kg of calc carb with 9kg of caribsea cichlid sand on top (the small white and black type), and it looks very nice. Mind if i ask how much the rocks cost? Jameson
The sand i used was 1mm coral sand 60kg but it was more like crushed coral which i got a good deal on. The rock had 10% discount for pick up and ended up being 270. Found your man in the shop nice and helpful. I was after Tufa rock which i searched and searched for but this was the closest i found. On Saturday got an email on some tufa from Canada saying he would post always the way.
