New ZigZagFish Breeding logs and caves

Recommended Posts

Received our first lot of the Zigzagfish Caves and logs ideal for breeding Shimp, Catties, Calvus and Cichlids. We now have a great range of breeding logs and caves in various sizes.

Will have to get some more in as well and was thinking about getting the Clay Barnicle shells this time round too.

@johnbetta got tired of 6 year old posts so he thought he'd break his own record.   Impressive John.   Can't wait and see what old post you decide to revive next ;)

This post is that old that The Tech Den doesn't even stock Zig Zag products anymore!

A single ceramic or slate tile with a small rock under one end makes an easy cave. A fish will choose best locations under the tile to select the height they prefer.

Another alternative is to add a little clay to your substrate and drop in a larger tile flat. The fish will dig a burrow underneath which won't collapse - selecting by default the best size entrance, tunnel length, bends and preferred aspect (side). This saves the fish keeper a lot of trial and error to get best caves for their fish. (Yes, I'm lazy).
