HereFishieFishie
What size are they roughly. If you are raising these to breed later on, then the ration of say 1m, 2f will work fine. To help lessen bullying raise them up with no caves, rocks etc... Frenchy :sheep:

HereFishieFishie
ummm well you can try new ones if you like. It would help if you knew how the old one died. Then again, how are the ones left getting along? None hiding in corner or top of tank? If the 3 get along well, then there may be no point adding more. boydie
yes,the two smaller ones are hanging around the top of the tank. they seem to get on ok but larger one is definatley the dominant one. any sugestions cheers boydie
HereFishieFishie
You could try some dither fish, ie; leptos work well with altos. If the male has a fav cave, move that down one end of the tank. Try set up a couple of breaks in the tank. Take out all caves. & a couple more altos to try spread agression. Few options there, its all trial & error. Depends on how bad the male is really. tutters187
Maybe you don't have enough places for them to hide?? I use lava rock, slate and hermit shells and give them a few shells to choose from. I have a 3ft with 11 or so firefins @ around 4 - 4.5cm and they seem fine, i recently added some julidochromis marlieri gombe also, as i read that they go well together and the julies will sort the comps out! The firefins grew up together but still have territory issues  In the tank is 12+ hermit shells with lava rock to make some caves and slate layering it for more hidey holes. Male comps will be faster growing and will bully each other if not enough places to retreat to.
