I'm looking at getting a 5 pack of then to light up my tank and the feeder tank under it. Just haven't gotten around to buying them yet. matt-sheeran Posted June 10, 2013 Report Share Posted June 10, 2013 5050 are brighter but also run allot hotter, 3528 are not AS bright but do not get that hot when running. you can also get inline dimmers so you can change the brightness of the LED's, cool little gadget. matt-sheeran Posted June 10, 2013 Report Share Posted June 10, 2013 yeah i've had both 5050 and 3528 strips, but i dont know i suppose it depends on what look you'r going for. 5050 are pretty darn bright and get pretty bloody hot when running for a while, but if you get that in line dimmer you can adjust it to how you like, either way you can get the fully sealed water proof strips and you can usually cut them to size so again it just depends on what look your going for. this was 5050 Blue that i had, tried to find pictures from when i had the others but couldn't find any but thats how bright a 5050 blue is Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Outlaw Posted June 10, 2013 Report Share Posted June 10, 2013 I just did a 6x2 with 2x 5050 cool white and 2x 5050 blue strips with inline dimmers and it lights it up perfect and by adjusting the blue u get the right contrast.
