Cheers Steve the caeruleus doesn't get justice from the pics...and he looks like he has a partially formed dorsal..which is NOT the case...just really hard to get snaps of these guys in tanks...flighty fish and very fast so might need to get myself a super camera...but will update this thread with some tank shots asap and fingers crossed they strike the pose

goldenswimmers
Understandable Finn each to their own but these guys proabably grab the curious part of my brain more than any other fish I have....the Christyi have bred...fry currently growing out(give it a few weeks)...I think the Caeruleus will be next to go judging by the signs...the Caeruleus are nuts....when you feed them its like your feeding colourful barracuda and they hit the surface like Tyson in the 80s.... I know hey...cool to see the little chompers....I wonder if they are maneaters ha ha ....but yeah that gold Ian seems to be more of the angle..its obviously there but It seems to stand out when viewed from above...if viewed from the side he has a much bluer colour....I really vary the diet...but its all hikari based(a variety of pellets) with the odd prawn and pea chucked in...and yep little live feeders from culling with other fish... goldenswimmers
Trouts will always be my favourites but damn those christyi are nice!Did u end up getting some fusco? Yep mate the trouts are one of my favourite fish with some serious fishy mojo:eyebrows: and the big males would have to be one of the best display fish you can get I reckon...they really look like underwater dragons....but yeah no fusco..all these big predators need their room and I'm probably going to concentrate on the trout and the hawk(christyi)..these 2 are really unique looking big haps and my favourite types so will deck out some nice BIG(8x3s) tanks for these guys....the christyi are ambush predators so "lurk" :peep:more than patrol and might not need that much room but the Malawi trout are such an active fish being a pursuit predator and they quite easily make a decent sized tank look pretty small.... goldenswimmers
How's it going with them brett ,getting some size to them? goldenswimmers Yeah Steve they are about 3cm now and could probably be "released" as they are strong little guys and are growing quickly....but an extra cm or two will make them better looking and stronger...will grab some pics asap
