Wraithie
Hi all, My bristlenose has spawned again in my cichlids tank and we all know how that is likely to end up... I would like to move him and the eggs out and I'm wondering is it better to move them whilst still eggs or wait until after they have hatched ( I'm thinking before hatching?). Appreciate the help Tess
Chris Tschumy
I am not 100% sure but I think moving eggs would be easier. Are they still in the log with dad ?
Wraithie
Yep, I think the 2nd female must have spawned overnight in the same log as I didn't notice there being two masses last night.
Chris Tschumy
Have you got another tank to put the log, eggs and dad in ?
Wraithie
I was going to set up a large bucket with heater, filter etc
Chris Tschumy
That might work. Best to get a few more opinions though
Carly
I leave mine in the log and wait till they have tails and are moving around the I take log and all out and get them out of the log into a fry saver box without dad and wait a week or so until they grow a bit more then into a grow out tank I haven't lost any hope this helps
aussieorchid
Grab an egg tumbler then you can keep them in the tank they are currently in until they hatch and are free swimming. Then you will need a second tank to grow them in.
