Chrisfits
This pic ain't the best, one of my Cubans has got googly eyes like some gold fish You'd have to zoom in its on both eyes but the left (his right) looks the worst.. Water quality is good all levels where they should be. Just snapped a better pic Any one had this before? How do I treat it?
Wraithie
I've been doing some hunting on this recently as I have a ram with one poppy eye. Both indicates possibly a bacterial or viral infection ( since you say the water is good)
Chrisfits
Really that's not good, I hope it's not viral.. Yeah waters real good did a 70% change yesterday, & the test I did earlier in the week was perfect so not a water issue.. I've dosed with mela fix but that's it
Donny@ageofaquariums
Melafix is unlikely to help, at the very least I would try pimafix. You will probably need something a bit stronger tho. What else is in the tank? And whats the water data? as in the test results?
Chrisfits
Cool, I'll give that a shot, try & pick some up tomorrow. Got a bunch of Freddie's in there & some congo tetras as dithers. Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 0-5 first square on the card but turning darker.
unheatedtank
I will move the fish out, though it may just be myself... Treat it in hospital tank just for sure as it s getting cod, and one mistake may affect the whole tank.

the cichlid kid
It' expensive, but I recommend myxazin by waterlife. My firemouth recently had Popeye in one eye I started treatment and saw improvement within 24hrs (1st dose). It was all cleared up after 3 days but of course I ran the treatment for the full five days as recommended.
Chrisfits
Sweet, I got paid today so can pick that up for sure!
Wraithie
Does myxazin affect the biological filter at all?
Donny@ageofaquariums
Does myxazin affect the biological filter at all? only by the most tiny amount which is surprising considering how broadspectrum it usually is against problem bacterias. Wraithie
My golden ram has one severely poppy eye which she has had for a while now, i ran a 5 day treatment of Myxazin(as it says on the bottle). It may have halted the progress but i dont think it has improved and now that the treatment is finished im pretty sure its getting worse again. Should i continue treating for longer than the specified time? I treated her in the main tank but im tempted to move her to a hospital tank and continue with her by herself. Suggestions appreciated. PETFISH
hospital tank with plenty of air and use oxycyline or tetracyline if you cant get those you may be able to get a product called aquacyline ,good luck.
greenz7
we had the same problem with a nagara flametail, put it in a hospital tank and used multicure...(all we had available at the time), took a bit of time but all happy in the end.
