aquaholic99
i use the terracotta saucers that go under pot plants. just nibble a little from the lip with pliers and turn upside down. make the entrance small enough the male can guard to feel secure. you can get 2 or 3 females spawning at once with the space available. best of all, the saucer turned on its side makes it very easy to hatch eggs with an airstone. Cost about 50 cents each new.
Yodapwnsasmurf
Cheapest and best I have made is just to get some long pieces of bamboo and cut them so that one end is blocked by the segment, make sure it's a dried piece. It should sink in about a week.
Tomartin
I agree with Finn on this. Easy, and last a couple of years before they chew all the way through it

aquaholic99
hard to artificially hatch with a closed tube though. if you remove eggs, the male will bully his girls into eggs a week later.
