Wraithie
Hi all, After being told i have too many tanks in the house i have tentative approval to set up a fish room downstairs (once its cleaned up a bit). What i dearly want to do is line breeding of some types of shrimp, endlers and possibly bettas for colour and form (i dont want to do bulk breeding- its the challenge i like). My aim is for a simple and minimalist setup (as i like to keep things neat) and would appreciate advice from people who have done it before. I want to start small I'm also wondering what sized tanks i should look at getting, most of my breeding would be trios or possibly small colonies and i would like to maximise space for different strains. I appreciate the desire for privacy and security around people's breeding setups and rooms, however if anyone was willing i would love the opportunity to visit and learn as much as i can before plunging in head first. Cheers, Tess

cram
agree with pet fish - insulate, insulate, insulate. otherwise your heaters will be running 24/7.. if you are looking at many tanks (15-20+) consider automatic water changing system (using drilled tanks) even if you don't run on a sump.
