martib
Is there such a thing?? I'm setting up a tank inside and to fit in with the decor the stand would have to be quite low and I don't think a standard type canister would fit. Is there a type of canister/filter that is not as high as normal. I'm going to put discus in the tank so I want very good filtration Cheers Marty

martib
Yeah just looked at them. A bit out of my price range. But the dimensions are great. Is there anything like that for half the price
The Tech Den
What about a second handy...there have been a couple of them here for sale and you just might be lucky.... http://www.qldaf.com/forums/dry-goods-trader-13/fs-fluval-g6-canister-$250-78353/

We had over a 50% fail rate before I canned them last year.

matt-sheeran
how about 2 of these Age of Aquariums - Aquaclear 500 ( 110 ) Hang on Filter (or a smaller 1 depending on the size of your tank) i just have 1 on my tank and they work great! The Tech Den
That makes sense why I could not find them on your site. I remember you had them pretty cheap for a bit a while ago but did not know you were no longer doing them or thought they were no good. Not a good or acceptable fatality rate - don't blame you for dropping them, I would too at that rate. They were pretty...lol
martib
yeah I thought about that but the tank more likely will have a hood and they wouldn't fit into the space anyway
martib
what about the filters grubby mentioned at the start of this thread,i could maybe put two of those in...anyone had any experience with them???
kasman
whats the volume of your tank? will it be lightly stocked or heavily stocked? This will help decide what filtration you will need.
martib
good point,it will have 2-4 discus some cardinals and some corys, about 400lt.
kasman
Thats a lightly stocked tank considering the volume is 400L. If youve got cash to spend then get 2, but I think one Eden will be fine. Id have an air driven sponge in there aswell as backup.
