the German
Let me start by saying WOW!! Iv been in the hunt for a pump to run my new setup for quite some time and had my mind made up on a really big davey pump, that was until I was at age of aqu and spoke to Ben,and the team and thay said thay are getting a new dc pump that will blow my world ,and it did !!Aqua el work at a very low power usage and unlike other pumps that have flow control this pump turns down the power to reduce the flow not just a ball valve that puts presure on the pump.so if you are setting up a system and whant to start small and then add more tanks later this is the pump for you , enough talk time for pics This is the controller with a on/ off button and the flow/power dial And this is the flow at half power ,just powerfull . Thanks Ben and team for all your help and advice ,I'm totally impressed with this pump. Age of Aquariums - Search

matt_a
How are these things going? I'm still tossing up between one of these or an Onga 415. The Aquael looks good, I'm just not sure if it will be up to the task though.
efc
They are pretty good Matt. I have the Aquael 15000 and it pumps a bit harder then the Laguna 16000due to better head height. Holly **** they are big but!
mungor
I have the 15k one and am very happy with it. Has a real quality feel about it too
matt_a
I'm just a little bit concerned as to whether or not it will have the balls to pump through my filtration setup and still have enough left over for a real world 10,000Lph flow rate. If they weren't so dear I would just take the chance, but if it doesn't work out it would be a quick way to lose money.

If you are concerned with the flow just buy the next size up and then you can always turn down the flow ,,,this is the best thing about the pump being able to control the power usage with a turn of the finger I promise you mat you will not be disappointed with it ... Donny@ageofaquariums
Before these pumps came out I was stoked with my laguna, but yea these pumps are a generation ahead of the laguna. Only good feed back so far. The aquael brand name is earning its place at the top.
matt_a
If there was a 50,000Lph model that's what I would be going for, but they only go up to 25,
