HannibalsMum
ok so the first is my little panda, it isnt doing as well as it should be, its currently in my 3f tank with its mate. but before that it was in the 20L baby tank ( ), were one of the swordtail jr had a good ol munch on its tail an dorsal fin. it looks as tho its not eating as well as it should an the tail isnt healing as well as it could be. my queation is, should i take it out of the 3f an put hm in a medicated tank? (the other panda knows its not right an nuzles up to it its so cute) an the other is that one of my b/n got stuck in the lava rock in the 3f tank, we had to take the rock out an use a screwdriver to pry the piece of rock off an get it out. luckly this was possable. i'm hoping that it wont do it again. what my concern is that what i had not seen was that it has what looks like a rather large wound on its belly, it also has a smaller one on the back. what my concern is that it gets worse an it dies.. really dont want that to happen. should i do the same as above an take it out an into a medicated tank till it is healed, or just keep an eye on it in the 3f tank? please help these guys as i dont want to lose them. Donny@ageofaquariums
I'd leave them in your main tank. Bristlenose tend to heal quite rapidly, and dont usually need medicating unless their wound is getting infected. The cory is sensitive to meds as well, and will probably do best in the 3 footer. Cories need time to heal, dont worry about not eating as they will still actively scavenge at night, just ensure they have dark places to rest up during the day. If you would like to try out some of the big mans blackwater extract, you are welcome to come over for a visit to grab it!
Donny@ageofaquariums
ok so they are in a tank with protazin. will add salt tomorrow as i dont have the time to do it tonight. The panda will not like salt, I'd advise against adding it. it should be fine with protozin....... but not sure how effective protozin will be, as its optimized for use against parasites like velvet and whitespot, rather than the microbes that infect fin and skin injuries. Still no harm done, good luck with them both
rosieposie
I have read/researched that catfish/scale less fish find salt irritating. I would be doing extra water changes at this stage. Clean water is magic.

HannibalsMum
well, i ended up losing the pannda. it was partly due to stress i think however its wasnst in the best of health when i got it either. i should of waited instead of jumping the gun an getting it out of the 3f tank. on the other hand i didnt have trubble finding it either. on the up side, the b/n is doung very well with treatment an will be back in the main tank soon. the wound on its belly is healing very well an isnt as deep as it was an no bad bugs have comeup. feeding well to.
