machdad71
I would like to introduce about 4 Silver Dollars into my 6x2x2 with my Oscars but am worried my O's will attack them. I have 3 O's, (all about 10") 2 Plecos, (about 8-9") and two small White Convicts. I was thinking of releasing about 10 Bronze Comets first and when the big fella's are full then introducing the Silver Dollars. The SD's will be around 2-2 1/2" Any feedback would be great please. thatsright99
You would be better adding more sil $ as they are schooling fish, 10+ would be good esp in a tank that size. If you can get sd with a body size of that of the palm of ur hand it would be better. Maybe landscape an end of the tank to stop the oscars getting to it but in which the dollars can dart through, like a bunch of roots or branches ect. machdad71
10 at palm size would be pretty expensive I think. Do you know where I may be able to get them at a decent price?
Daharkazangel
I got nine in the matter of a few weeks, most at $10 each or less. And some are 15cm! Id be adding something else with the dollars for sure.. My Oscars annoyed my dollars until I added some plants and more drift wood. I have two 25cm Oscars with a goldspot and nine dollars in a 5x2x2 Good luck! Pics?
thatsright99
I have 8-10 at home but their tot size would be about hand size. Pet city had some really big ones awhile back, don't know if still there but call and see, maybe you could hit them up for a bargain?
aquaholic99
Get some tinfoils instead. They are less skitish, faster and can handle knocks better.
Donny@ageofaquariums
If you are going to add other fish friends in with oscars....... I would stop feeding the oscars feeder fish! Give them crickets, woodies, prawns or crays instead.
