Kaizen088
I've just acquired an IBC and wanted to know what other people have for filtration. Was thinking some sort of a DIY box filter setup on top using some storage tubs, possibly including some K1 as well. It's currently running a few Otto 800's. Cheers. ado_84
mine are connected to a sump but an over head sump works well too.. or it keep it simple, just a big canister filter and keep the powerheads running Edited August 29, 2013 by ado_84
Donny@ageofaquariums
I think if you were going to DIY one up, that the juwel aquarium style one would be simple and effective. Heck someone may even have one they have cut out of a juwel aquarium. Its sort of a powerhead/pump....... that sucks water from the second side of a box. wow a new level of bad description lol hmmm......... pictures maybe
dexxl
takes a fair bit of energy to run a pump to constantly cycle an IBC sufficiently for disinfection/nutrient removal. Consider the cost of energy vs the cost of water. 1 x IBC, energy might win, it's kind of on the fence.. 3 x IBC, my calculations were that flow through systems are cheaper & more efficient. Just saying...
