happyfish
Hi, I am looking to find someone locally who can cut/supply lids. If anyone knows where that would be great. I am on the Gold Coast hinterland and need some lids for a 3ft and 4ft. Had a smashing time when cleaning the tank lol.
Rob3am
what size do you need?
happyfish
4ft - one side on the 4ft is total area 550mm length and 365 wide, so i guess 1x 550mmx180 and 1x 550mmx185? One with a curve on the right hand side. the 3 ft, need 1x450x160mm also after one lid for the 6x2x2, made with 10mm glass. size 550x440 with a back right curve out of it. 6mm thick? aquaholic99
If you have big tank busters that smash lids, use 10mm thick lids but drill a couple of 35mm feed holes so you don't have to lift them off very often. Or use 6mm glass but weighed down with several 1kg sand bags as anything else will be pushed up and smash lids on the way down. Having some frogbit or other floating plants will reduce big fish jumping.
happyfish
Im the tank buster lol. had some mismatched sizes that came with two tanks, and one missing on third. broke one when cleaning out on weekend. so time to reduce power bills.
