Are these as good as the dearer versions? Does it get good penetration?

Yeah they are pretty good. What do you want it for? They have good depth penetration and are good for corals,plants ect. You can use either blue, white or both together and will get a nice rippling effect in the tank and if you don't have hood, on the roof as well...

Have the 2.1m version of this. It has a good light and doesnt have much heat. The alum casing is really good. It is a good thing for this unit to have 2 switches as mine will turn on all blue and white at the same time.

They are reasonably priced to.
