lilly1958
Why would someone do that????? Thats why we can't get any of the wonderful varieties of fish that are available overseas, because some idiot might release them into our waterways. too bad you couldn't catch them. Lets hope the duck has a go..

Angel
Back in 1996 there was a big flood in the Bremer and Brisbane rivers and after which the swimming hole in our property at Amberley ended up with several huge goldfish. I would think that they came from a pond that had flooded and ended up where they were. Could explain some of the fish sightings around the place. Think of how many homes and Aquarium stores have been flooded in the last couple of years. But alas there certainly are plenty of fools out there as well. But anyway the 1996 goldfish in our swimming hole didn't last long as they made dam good target practice, and they didn't swim far after a 303 bullet went though their head. Who said a country bloke with a rifle and a spotlight can't be an environmentalist. But in this situation if you think about it how hard would it be for the authority's to do the same in this situation. If you can shoot them with a camera you can shoot them with a gun. Call in the military I say. SAS perhaps?

bidkev
I wish I had a nsw postcode .... Massive fan of koi . In particular Japanese Not much colour to one of them mate, but God! he had some lovely metallic scaling! they were my "forte" back in the UK before I migrated and as much as I love 'em, I'd hate for 'em to get into our waterways.............they strip 'em of all vegetation............I've even seen 'em dig up water lilly corms! When the vegetation goes, so does the filtration and oxygen.

goneself
I'm amazed anything that big would survive in redcliffe. You'd think the creek would be full of iced out bogans everyday trying for a free feed. Then again, probably too much work.
