Timmy
Just wondering what people options are? I have a external filter and it has to go down one end of the tank so is it better to have a shorter hose in to the tank or out of the tank? Does that put more stress on the motor having it a certain way? Thanks
Nafe420
Yea it will put more stress on the motor if you do it wrong but just make the outlet hose shorter and you'll be right. If you put it on the intake you will majorly decrease the flow rate to the point it's not worth even having a canister. Short hose outlet :-D
Eh man
I would have a shorter hose goin back into the tank as there will be less pressure on the pump pushing it back in.the hose goin into the filter will have gravity helpin it.thats what I would do anyway
Bully
I have my fx5 down under one end of the stand. I've got the inlet straight up on the right hand side of the tank and the outlet is in the middle of the tank. Both lengths of hose are the same by doing this and have no problems with flow or water movement in tank..
cichlidwife
as water flow pushes down with gravity from inlets from an angle to filter it helps the pump push it back up with motor.... kinda helps each other... in other words the pressure pushing down, helps push up at same height.... maybe need another beer ???? mike
yellows
As Nafe420 said shorter outlet and longer inlet also take the spray bar off will increase the flow back into the tank
