Flanagan001
I previously had a 4ft tank with a red devil (male) a red Texas (female) and a flowerhorn (male) The last two kept beating the red devil so I put in a divider I asked for advice and was told to put them on their own, which isn't an option. The other advice was to upgrade the tank, (so I did to a 6x2x2) and put more fish in so there are no territories. What fish and how many should I add? Richard_
In a 6 x 2 x 2 if you have good filtration you can add several more Americans, a ghost knife, large crayfish or whatever you want really What could fit in? Ghost knife Prochilodus flagtail Oscar Bocourti Salvini Zonatum Blackbelt Jaguar Festae Yellow Freddie's Green terror etc etc etc There are boring schooling fish you can get but I'd settle on some more bad Americans
Shanoz
Also Super Green Texas, Jack Dempsey's, Umbee's, Dovii.............. the list of American's can go on. Just make sure you have enough filtration for the Bio load.

zorbadundee
Dont add a Dovi or umbee to that tank, if you want one of them with tank mates u need at least an 8footer within a year, since most of your fish are redish I would add a texas (either type) and a GT so there is a bit or variation in the colour. If you want more red go a Festea or Red Oscar.
Richard_
Agree with zorbadubdee No dovii or umbee There's bad boys but these guys just hate everything else that swims
Chrisfits
Probably even hold the jag, once they get to size the 6x2 will look like a 4x18 especially with tank mates
Flanagan001
How many bad Americans do you think I'd get away with. Thanks for the list, that's brilliant. I have a mating pair of green terrors who have 1 week old fry. Obviously I can't add them for months so I don't want to overstock now. Richard_
Now you're asking an open question with numbers and stocking Overstocking will reduce territories but not personalities You can have up to 15 Americans while they grow but you can't keep them all in there when full sized I upgraded from a 6 x 2 x 2 to a 10ft when mine got too big and I didn't want to sell them Realistically maybe stick to 1 fish per 100 litres when theyre full grown, a 6 x 2 x 2 is about 680 litres so max 7 big Americans They do lots of poo so factor that in The more fish, the more work, more water changes etc I run 2 fx5 and 2 Chinese 2200 lph filters and clean them every week, so if you overstock there is extra work Good luck :-) Edited October 1, 2013 by Richard_

Donny@ageofaquariums
I like adding in a jumble of territory and then some smaller fish. Like 10 full grown convicts........ or 100 3cm ones lol
