Found this awesome little tang that is rare ANYWHERE in the hobby(could it be here?? look at me im flying/dreaming!!)....virtually never found at depths less than 30m and being a solitary fish that spawns in caves this little guy would be a hard one to find I imagine :eyebrows:...chomps down crustaceans etc but only gets to about 10cm and personally it reminds me of a dhonti crossed with a brichardi :eyebrows:...so a pretty little killer ..like many in this lake..aggressive little buggers everywhere:black_eyed:...so anyone ever seen one?...anywhere??(overseas trips!?) :eyebrows:

Once you see it, or read about it, on an Australian fish forum, there is a pretty good chance they will appear soon afterwards

A little while ago there was a lot of people saying how cool Petrochromis would be, I believe there is nearly 20 varieties in Australia now, lol

Yea that ones I had back in the day were fairly blue, something like this guy:

Bues1.jpg

My old male the silly aggressive bugger tried to attack my big tinanti (bit his lip) and ended up inside the Tin's mouth, lol. Was the highlight of my buesheri experience :P

we should talk about arowana and emperor cichlids more often then :eyebrows: :eyebrows:

sadly all the emporer chat a few years ago, DID results in heaps available, and they were even being sold in LFS !!!! AQIS pretty much soiled themselves and made emporers a noxious species..sad sad day..

Buescheri are very cool cranky little fishes, one of my favs, and on the re-aquire list at some stage, I had the same sort that Angry posted.

The most common variant (I have only seen two available, but others may well have seen more) is this one, from Cape Kachese and does have more straigher line. The other variant around has more pronounced break up of the vertical line, of which I have one girl.........

Nicole, Nice pics .

Goldenswimmers: They are sad to see in a tank, they are the sort of fish that needs an ocean size lake to be in, but they are a good looking fish in person ;)

I wonder if they would allow you to farm them, ie aquaculture, apparently they are great eating.. yes any excuse to have some lol!
