squidlinc
I just bought a tank off steveandjules (thanks) and the light needs a power box? I'm not overly concerned with getting it fixed as the tank was only $30 but it would look much better with it working. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I'm actually looking for to power this thing. I've added a photo of the plugs at the back of the light unit. There is also a cord but I'm almost certain that this was for the inbuilt filter that was originally with the tank. If anyone could give me some quick help I'd really appreciate it, hoping to start getting this tank set up today. the cichlid kid
That's not a very conventional looking connection. Your generic style appliance leads wouldn't fit that. Do you know what voltage the power supply for the lights is supposed to be? A make and model of the tank and type of lighting (compact fluoro, t5, LED?) will help in determining what you need. squidlinc
I plugged a 12volt power adapter thing that I usually use for an alarm clock into it. It got well and it mentions 12v on the lid of the tank but no luck :/ not sure where to go from here as as I don't know if the bulbs just blown or it dead inside ... Might leave it for a a while and have another look at it later Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
