martib
Are under sink water filters suitable(with the appropriate filters )for using as an RO unit??? Cheers Marty
billfish
I use an under sink filter not an r o unit just two cartridges one carbon , one 10 micron filter takes out most nasties not perfect but don't get the water wastage that's associated with r o units so its a compromise $300 ( if i remember right) and half hour to install if you are careful with a holesaw on the sink . It's a dura twin from Reece plumbing .1 micron is 1000 of an inch so 10 micron is reaaalllly small . Added bonus water tastes a s!'t load better chlorine chloramines metals and solids all gone would be interesting to stick a total dissolved solids meter in it to see maybe someone out there has a filter and a meter . Micron is a metric measurement, 1000 microns = 1 mm so 1 micron = 0.001 mm
litigator666
Just buy a cheap one of ebay for $99 (3 stage capsule type normally) then when cartridge ran out, buy a new set. was doing that previously before getting the unit that I'm selling now. If you want long term, better spend a few extra for a good unit that will save you in the long run.
