Oromis
Problem: Yoyo Loach has damage to the mouth/barbel area. Is lethargic and only mildly interested in food (is usual ecstatic about food). I am trying not transfer him to quarantine now. Going to try low doses of Melafix and Primafix as a start. Along with a dose of stress coat. Is this just a physical injury or is this something much worse? Is there anything you can recommend that may help? Oromis
Since I've had such a hard time trying to catch the poor guy i've just dosed the main tank with a half dose of Melafix (as we have 5 Gouramis and a Betta)
th3f0rg0t3n
if you were sick or had a wound, would you treat yourself with a half dose ? full dose will be fine..
Oromis
Just from what I've been reading about melafix it can seriously damage the labyrinth in labyrinth breathers. And its not as though we only have one of them in there. Because I forgot to add that we have 4 Gouramis not listed (2x Platnium and 2x Marble). With a total of 6 we can't really move them else where while we treat.
Gr3ml1n88
I use melafix with 2x-3x dosage with clown paki and kuhli loaches without adverse reactions.
99AWD
^^^ I second this. I had a silver shark attempt suicide and end up with a huge wound. He's in with some Clowns, Khulis and Yo-Yos and they're all going great guns Hope this helps.
