Yodapwnsasmurf
Hey all. Just a quick question, do EBJD get less fragile with age? I've kept them between 1-5cm and I've just never had much luck. I'm very keen to buy a fully grown adult but I'm also a little afraid that it's just gonna go the way of the juvies.... Thanks in advance for your replies. Finn

jabmel
getting an EBJD past 10 CM is great, however they are still big babies and will normaly not fight back, even when getting attacked by a smaller partner (female) they do however sometimes go blind or sterile, all in all a nice blue fish when big, main thing is to get them to that size, is great food, (even live prawns and worms) great water, and tank mates that will not stress them out cheers Ben

pony-tail
A shame because ordinary JDs are as tough as an old boot . At Redcliffe they even breed out in a carport in June .
Keith B
I gave up on the EBJDs, never saw the little ****es in my display and eventually realised the earlier attraction I had for them was in their "differentness" rather than their blue appearance - which is inferior to most blue African cichlids at a fraction of the price and fifty times their tank personality. However the pairs of splits that I still have are really nice quality JD's although they don't seem to grow as quickly as other jacks?
myster619
Me too, I spent over 100 to get 4 at 3-4cm. All of them turned deformed after 3-4 months. I did not have the heart to flush them. They lived for another 6-7 months. During all this time, they never grew even by a 1mm.
