is it hard to reduce the depth of a dexion rack?

i need the depth to be 60cm. the 2nd hand rack im looking at is 120cm deep.

if i leave it 120cm deep i can fit 8(120cm x 45 x45cm) tanks on 1 level. one level is 377cm. i worked 8 full tanks would weigh 1960 kg....

is the depth too much work? would the rack hold? i keep hearing 2 tonne rating....

It takes a bit of effort, but can be done.it has to be pulled apart and all the braces cut down and new holes drilled to fit the width you want.for weight go off the load rating.bigger the better, some of the thinner ones bow a little

thaiga - best to get some steel bracing made up if spanning the 1200 or place the tanks to span the width. I tried with two 6 x 2 x 2.5 per rack and wasn't comfortable with the bowing. Just going with the eight x 4 footers per rack, with tge 6 footers on their own stands.

Easy to cut down the crossbracing to suite. I think the ratio count 8 holes up and bolt the opposite side to set the diagonal brace.
