It is about 150mm from the top so there is less pressure on it compared to the bottom. It's on the inside of the tank. It's about 2-3mm. I have attached a photo. Sorry, I think it might be fine but if it were me I would get it sealed (like on the ad) just for peace of mind. Last thing you want is 500-600 litres on the floor and lost stock. Not sure if that is safe for an aquarium and also weather or not it makes the tank structurally stronger or is just cosmetics.
