drewcastle
Hey all, Just wondering if anyone here has kept or is currently keeping any yellowfin bream in aquariums? I know there really timid and skittish in the wild but just wondering what behaviours they have in a tank scenario? Weather they become interactive with their owners like other natives etc... And what people feed them, and are they available in the aquarium trade? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks, andrew
Yodapwnsasmurf
They make great pets but I'd most certainly have them in a brackish tank, they're just happier.
drewcastle
Thanks for the tip mate! Do they become interactive like bass and cod etc and swim to the glass when people walk past and at feed time and stuff? And can they be weaned onto pellets and the like? Thanks again, Andrew

none
just wondering what behaviours they have in a tank scenario? They can be EXTREMELY aggressive in tanks. Some individuals can be like Targetfish just really nasty fish. Others seem to be ok. Tankmates would ahve to be robust.

Even fish like scats, monos and archers....... heck even mollies produce the odd monster! I found Bream to be absolute pigs. Doubled the amount of food I needed to feed tanks. If its totally freshwater and you want an interactive chilled fish, barcoo grunter (jade perch) can be a cool pet.

drewcastle
Sorry to dig up an older post but what pellet do people feed yellowfin bream and what methods did people use to wean them onto pellet, or did they just snap them up? Was thinking if using massivore or sinking carnivore pellets by hikari. Any helps appriciated, Andrew
